Wow I haven’t logged in to Tumblr in over three months… :( I haven’t even written in my private journal yet I have so much to say! So many adventures, new friends, new places and delicious food. I went to Italy in January with the intention of staying there for four months and actually learning Italian, but I ended up traveling far more than I ever could have imagined. Backpacking throughout Germany and Amsterdam. MOROCCO. Pompeii and Sorrento. Sweden. Denmark. I don’t regret anything. It was an amazing semester and I learned so much and discovered a passion for art history, but I still want to immerse myself in the Italian culture soo.. I found a job working on a farm near Pescara! I’m super excited to learn more about organic farming and gardening, first hand. I know it will be hard work, but rewarding at the same time. And they grow tea and saffron! Reminds me of Morocco :) which deserves its own post because I absolutely loved Fez and I can’t wait to go back and explore the desert.
Found a little piece of home in the middle of Florence! I’m sitting in this American-style coffee shop with big comfy chairs and lovely old Italian music playing and Erin and I just shared a nutella crepe. Life is good.
I’m having trouble studying, however. Midterms next week and I’m no where near prepared.. this past month has just been one giant vacation. I go to class, volunteer, work, go to bars, and travel on the weekends. I haven’t made any time for reading and photography class is starting to get more intense. We have nine pictures due Monday and I’ve taken two so far…
Anyway. I hope everyone had a happy valentines day! My lovely boss brought me homemade hummus, and then I attempted to participate in a flash mob raising awareness against violence on women. I’ll have to look up videos later. At night, I had a date with my roommate Kristen, haha. We went to an apperitivo (wine + appetizers) at the Odeon and saw Perks of Being a Wallflower on the big screen. Just as wonderful as the book. Then my friends and I drank wine and ate oreos back at the apartment. Bon san valentino!
